OOTD: Licorice All Sorts.

So here is todays OOTD. This is one of my favorite dresses and I call it my "Licorice All Sorts" dress!

 As you can see it really is like a licorice all sort. The colour inbetween the black is a mixture of all different shades. Its simply amazing - it's all hand loomed and in the side part of the dress it has a lace inspired pattern. It's by my favorite Australian designer, Vivian Chan Shaw.


Isn't it amazing?? This was a vintage find, and I think it was from the late 70's or very early 80's. I have some more vintage peices, as well as peices from her store in the city. I cannot imagine how much this cost the lady that bought it brand new - But vintage,this was about $300. This peice is a one of a kind, but Vivian does do special orders.

You can check out her designs here. I've only met Vivian herself once and she is the most lovely, humble person you could ever imgaine. Her daughter, Claudia who looks after me so much when I visit the store, is one of my favorite people in the entire world. 

Also today was quite an adventure for me. My Asos curve collar insert dress arrived yesterday, but its miles too short on me dolls! So I went out to run some errands to take my mind off my dissapointment, But along the way I accidently bought a few things... oops. But at least I felt better!

So firstly, at a little boutique in Went Worth Falls called Rare Birds, I picked up some amazing grey knee high socks, I've been searching for something like these forever and also this lush necklace, I love anything with satin ties, I'm actually going back to get another one so I can double it up, it's extremely light weight - so it won't be at all heavy around my neck. I also picked up some stockings and opaque tights.

When I was in the hoisery section at Myer, I stumbled across this bag. It's a Chloe Replica, I think is made from vinyl, and it cost $49.00 (because who can afford the $2000 version?), but I'm actually surprised by the quality. It's by Dangerfield in the Miss Shop section. They actually had an amazing collection of bags, I'll be sure to check them out when the sales are on!
