Six Take: Sex and The City - Carrie

This months Six Take theme is "TV & Movies" -  I decided that I should pick Sex and The City because Carrie has been a style Icon of my for years! She even started my love of big flowers in outfits and here, I pay thanks to her, for starting my love of standing out from the crowd!

While I don't have this amazing dress, I came up with my own version and even curled my hair!

Singlet (18) - Target / Striped Midi Skirt (US22) - Asos / Black Flower - Bardot
Black Mary Jane Shoes (12) - Torrid / Leather Cube Bag - Asos Premium

I think we both look rather cute.. even if I do say so myself! I've always loved Carrie's style. Its classic but it ALWAYS has a twist of something cute or quirky. I've always loved that she isn't always on trend, but she is always herself and this is something that I strive for everyday!

You all know how much I adore this skirt, and my new shoes from Torrid. But the rest was really easy to put together. I found this singlet top at Target for $9.60 which is a really good basic and will work with all the skirts I own, the flower I have had for ages, but my newest arrival is this lush leather cube bag, which I instantly fell inlove with because it reminded me so much of an Alexander Wang one, but when I was in Sydney I did see one at Myer by Viktor & Rolf and it was $1299 - so I think this was a case of "the girls done good".

Please check out the other ladies Six Take posts they are sure to be amaze!

Hope you enjoyed this months Six Take, time is moving way fast and I can't believe how many we have done now. Amaze!!

OOTD: It only takes one dress.

My favourite thing in the world is a dress. I love them, they are easy to wear, just slip them on and go. You don't have to worry too much about what matches, they are uncomplicated but look amazing. I love dresses.. just sayin'.

Dress (18) - Target / Black Mary Jane Shoes (12) Torrid
Unicorn Necklace - Peaches Geldof for MADE
Black and White Flower Bud Earrings - Colette.

I was walking around my local Target, and I saw this dress just hanging on a rack, near the mens department, all by itself. And I wasn't sure an 18 would fit, but I fell inlove with the frills around the neck and I simply had to try it on, I was in shock when it did fit, even more shocked that it fit so well. I was even happier when I saw the price tag, $49! Thats all! For something so pretty!

It's amazing the things you find when you least expect it, and this dress will definitely be coming with me on my up coming trip to the states in November! Its so classic and easy, and can be dressed up or down!

OOTD: School of Hard Rock.

I'm sorry It's taken me so long to do a proper outfit post but when I was in Sydney I just didn't seem to take any photos of myself, I seemed so sleepy... who knew I'd miss my pillows so much? Anyway I'm home now - with my whole closet at my disposal and this is what I came up with.. what do you think?

Dress (US22) - Asos Curve / Sequin Jacket (2) - Torrid
Unicorn Necklace - Peaches Geldof For MADE
Black Mary Jane Shoes (12) - Torrid.
An all black outfit.. kinda predictiable I know, especially for a Curvette, but all black can be really interesting if you do it right. But all these pieces have their own quirk to them. The black tea dress from Asos has that beautiful collar on it, which sits so beautifully over the black sequins jacket from Torrid. The shoes aren't boring old black either, they are a classic Mary Jane but with cute bows on the toes (love how that rhymed, and I promise I didn't plan it) and the dash of gold from the Unicorn for me, brings everything together.

And I know I say how expensive the shipping is from Torrid, but their shoes at the moment are buy one get one half off, how could I resist? I have another two pairs on their way to me now, the pair above in a blush/pink colour! And even though the shipping is still expensive at least getting on pair half off is some discount towards the shipping .. Yes, I have justified it. :)

If I look tired in these photos I am, I've jut gotten home from some fashion shows and one very late night at the Hard Rock Cafe, that seriously changed my life.

Gisela Ramirez Fashion Show & Launch!

So I was one of the very lucky fashion bloggers who got invited into the City for the very swish and fabulous Gisela Ramirez fashion show. I was a little bit thrilled about the fact that when we got into the runway I was one of the few people that got a seat, and my name was on there, waiting for me!  I was stunned and left speechless by the designs.. so I'll let my photos of the night do all the talking!

F*CK FLATTERING!
The amazing designer herself....

I had an amazing night (except for falling over!), met some amazing people and bloggers and the designs were so beautiful! I love the full piece bondage swimsuit and anything that involves that amazing peach colour. Check out her store here! The quality of the pieces looked amazing and everything flowed so beautifully!

OOTD: Chartreuse Green.

You know, In the past month of so I've scored some wicked pieces on sale and this piece is one of them...

Dress (US22) - Asos Curve / Berry Shoes (12) - Gifted by Torrid
Bag - CHANEL / Necklace and Snake Cuff - Samantha Wills.

I actually thought this was more of a yellow shade, even though on Asos it said green. But its really a mix of both shades and I really, really like it! Its a very unexpected sort of colour, unpredictable - just how I like it.

Speaking of unexpected colours, I love how the berry shoes that Torrid sent me clash so beautifully with the dress. I love when things don't match but looks so perfect together. Another thing.. I was so scared that this dress was going to be too short, but I was so excited when the length was perfect on me, so so happy!

Please ignore my paleness. :)

So onto accessories, I new once I put these amazing Torrid shoes with this dress what kind of jewellery I wanted to team with it. I wanted a gold, clunky, heavy stand out necklace - this necklace isn't as gold as I originally wanted but it works. I also added a gold snake cuff, and then just grabbed some CHANEL - because let's face it, I could be wearing my pj's and it would make even them look good.

How bright is this amazing berry colour, seriously some photos do not do the colour or the shoes justice - I simply adore them! Thank you Torrid!

I wore this necklace a few posts ago and every wanted a close up.. so here you go! It actually has two bracelets built into it. So you can either wear it the way I have in this post, or you can take the bracelets off for a less heavy piece - and you can always just wear the bracelets!

So what do you think? Let me know! Also I just want to let you know I have started putting some pieces up for sale! Check it out here.

OOTD: Sheer Sheer.

I went out shopping yesterday and as per usual I headed straight to Sportsgirl. I always love looking at their accessories, beauty products.... and well you never know what clothing might fit. I was looking at the sale rack, and there was the most lovely skirt. It had a elastic waist ( like the Asos Curve ones do) but it looked very small and I honestly did not think it would fit. But I thought what the heck? Its not going to hurt anyone for me to try it on.......so glad I did.

Top (XL) - City Chic / Lace Skirt (L) - Sportsgirl / Glitter pumps (12) - gifted from Torrid
Bag - Chanel / Necklace - House of Harlow.

I was so shocked when this slid up and fitted me. I thought I might have to wear an extra slip underneath but the sheer, lacy part of the skirt isn't as sheer as I thought it was and I love the way it looks. It does have a half slip built into it, and the length I think is perfect. Sportsgirl have really generous sizing, reasonable prices and great quality. So if you are a curvette don't be scared to go in.... you never know what you might find! I got this for $49.95, reduced from $89.95, and it was the last one at my local store, but I'm sure it was available online too.

I also found this cute top at City Chic. I can vouch that their sizing is better (at least in this top) than it used to be. The quality also seems better. The only problem with this top is that as I was getting dressed I noticed a mark of some kind in the material, so I rang my local store and Nicole (super sweet chick) is getting me another one if from another store! So I can't wait to get it so I can really wear this out fit, because I adore it - and I only put it together to take some photos, because I was so excited!!

I think your going to have to get used to seeing these glitter pumps from Torrid... A LOT. I simply adore them! Speaking of which.... Dont forget to get your entries in for the "Steal My Style" Give away, brought to you by Torrid. You could win yourself a pair of these shoes! All the info for this give away is in the "Hummingbird heartbeat" post! Check it out!
