OOTN: Dinner in The Park.

So tonight a bunch of friends and I went and had a alfresco picnic at a local park which also has a lake. The weather came out warm this afternoon so we took advantage of it! Before I left home I got some outfit shots!

Crochet Back Singlet - Size and Brand Unknown
Dress (US20) - Asos Curve
Ribbon Belt - Ribbon from Spotlight
Black Peep Toe Shoes (11) - Emerson for Big W
Boater Hat - Myer, with velvet ribbon from Spotlight

I always like to be a little dressed up and even though it was a "Casual" event, I still like to feel special. And that's were my boater hat came it. I needed something to top it all off, so to speak. I actually picked this up on sale at Myer, it was originally $50-something dollars - but it was in the clearance bin and then with some extra discount they had going that day I got it for an amazing $2.50! Can you believe that?!

Awkward Face!
I feel a bit like a modern day hippy or indie darling in this outfit, but a hat will do that to a gal. I've always loved hats - but thanks to having a huge head I don't often find any that fit it! So I was super happy when I found this one at Myer. It came with some dodgy ribbon but I soon fixed that. And it was kind of perfect for dinner in a park, with a view of a lake - perfect!

Yes I up-cycled this dress into a skirt. And, yes - I have worn it ALOT since I fixed it. It works with so many different things in my closet, that its a (now) very versatile piece that I love showing off! And again, a ribbon belt! I don't know why I haven't been wearing these before - they are such a chic little thing to add to an outfit!

Stay Beautiful!

Until Next Time xox <3

  4. Just out of curiosity, the maxi dress that you said you up-cycled into a skirt. Did you actually have it changed into a skirt? Or did you just fold the top portion of the dress under and wear it like that? I have a dress that is too tight on top for me and I'm trying to figure out the best way to wear it as a skirt without ruining it completely. Thanks!

BTW - I own that same Asos dress and never thought to wear it as a skirt, I actually think it looks better as a skirt. I may just have to get to hacking all of the maxis in my closet!

    1. Hi Colin!

I actually turned it into a skirt! If your unsure about up-cycling it yourself, I would take it to an altertions place and explain what you want done and they should be able to do it for you, no issue :) I have gotten so much wear out of this skirt already!

      Good Luck!

I'm glad it is now a skirt and it does look amazing that way! Thank you for your comment! x
