Venessa Delarosa: The Face of Full Figured Fashion Week™

I am so excited about this post! It makes it feel so close and so real! NYC is only a few weeks away now! Sometimes in Australia it can feel that we are a little forgotten about in such amazing events such as Full Figured Fashion Week™ but not this year! There is an Australian invasion happening, and I want to keep all my Australian followers up to date on anything and everything FFFWEEK™.. because that's just how I roll. 


So what better way to do this than to introduce you to the face of FFFWEEK™ herself, Vanessa Delarosa! I have been lucky enough to do a little interview with her and I really hope you enjoy it!

1. Venessa, it was not long ago that it was announced that you were The Face of Full Figured Fashion Week. How did you feel when you found out you were chosen?

Oh my I was so excited,i still couldn't believe it,I actually pulled over on the highway and started to cry. I cried because of everything I have been through in life,to finally get a break and get something that I feel I have worked hard for. 

2. Can you tell my readers a little more about yourself?

Well I am just like every other woman, I'm actually a single mother to 3 beautiful girls,16,11,and 9. I am a full time actress and model,I have been modeling since I was 13 yrs old. I also am a military veteran and I have traveled all over the US. I am very outgoing,friendly,spontaneous,and i love basketball.

3. What made you apply to become The Face Of Full Figured Fashion Week? 

Well for the last four years I actually have always wanted to,but I had to build my confidence and it was all about timing,I feel I am a different place in my life and I feel great and confident. 

4. What can we expect from you during Fashion Week? 

Great energy, lots of fun, very interactive and spontaneous. 

5.What, do you think are some of the events that people should be keeping their eyes peeled for?

Well of course the fashion show...lol and also the all white boat party. 

6.What do you think Fashion Week can do to empower all women, not just the curvettes in our community?

Its time that we unite and come together to stand up for woman of all sizes, we NEED to be accepted.

7.Do you think events like these are changing the perception of main stream beauty?

I think they are,the more that were out there,the more that we put the word out that woman don't have to be a size 0 to be considered a model,and that we are beautiful individuals no matter what size we are. We aren't going any where and we refuse to be pushed away!

8. Which designers are you excited to see on the Runway?

Well of course Queen Grace and Jill Alexander Designs,however I am actually excited to see all of them,I love new designers and I love to see their creations.

9.  And last but not least, probably the most important question! Can you tell us anything about who you'll be wearing on the red carpet come June?

Well I don't want to give it away,but always something fierce and stylish,see you on the Red Carpet, xoxo
