I once watched an interview on The Late Show with David Letterman, he was talking to Anna Wintour about Vogue's Fashion Night Out. And he asked the amazing Anna, "well what do you do if you only have $20, how can you be fashionable then?". And she not only had a fabulous answer but made an amazing point as well, "Buy a lipstick".
This interview has always stuck with me, here the editor of Vogue telling you how to be fashionable on a budget. By nature I tend to be a high-low dresser, mixing designer with high street and the odd bit of vintage. But today I tried to create an outfit that was cheap & chic, because you don't need a million bucks to look amaze, just carefully picked pieces. All the pieces I am wearing in this post are from chain stores with exception to of the necklace, which I picked up from Macys when I was in New York!
You just have to remember to pick pieces that are classic shapes and also have a designer influence to them, and from there it's super easy to turn high street into high chic.... pun intended!
