OOTD: I'm Pollyanna's home girl.

When I first saw this dress arrive on Asos Curve months and months ago I was not at all sold on it. Sure I thought it was cute, totally adorable - but I wasn't sold on the cream colour. I have a girlfriend here who is addicted to Asos Curve almost as much as I am and during the weekend she was doing a massive wardrobe clean out, she of course asked me for help and I am quite talented at closet organization. She had this dress in a pile to 'let go" - when I saw it in real life I totally fell in love with it!

Boater's Hat - Myer
Colour Block Dress (US22) - Asos Curve
Black & White Flat Brogues (UK9) - Beth Ditto for Evans

Ah...safe to say, it has a new home! It's incredibly well fitted but not in an uncomfortable way. Actually even in the arms and shoulders, which is usually where things tend to feel tight on me (Broad Shoulders!) - but this does not at all feel tight. It just feel perfect really, love when that happens.

It has a beautiful, full, flared skirt which I truly adore. It also has a cut out back - which is super cute! It has two buttons on the back which match in with the buttons on the front. It's the buttons which actually inspired the title of this outfit post. Pollyanna was one of my favourite movie's growing up as a child and this dress remind's me so much of that early Victorian style of clothing that children used to wear, but obviously a much more modern, grown up version. But I still feel like quite the young lady in this dress!

I also love that its the first, almost all white, well cream, dress I own - I tend to go towards the bright's, the black's and the print's and floral's. So I love that this is classic in a different way.

Scarlet Fever brought to you by ghd.

“Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
ghd Scarlet makes you the fiercest of them all”

No really.. It does! I love and adore fashion. But it's really important to me to have a finished and completed look. I spend a lot of money on hair products, but that would all be a waste without my ghd - no other irons give my hair the shine that the ghd does. I recently had to purchase a new ghd and I just had to share with you the amazing gift sets that are available as well as the stunning images that go with them!

World leading professional hair styling brand ghd introduces the ultimate gift – the ghd Scarlet Collection. This new limited edition collection sees the ghd Gold Classic styler transformed with opulent red accents in a celebration of 1920s glamour and glitz - one of this winter’s most enchanting and alluring trends. I was so in love when I saw the red plates, that almost glitter - it makes you want to do your hair, every single day.

Did you know that the roaring 20s was back in style? - and this is what inspiration for this limited edition ghd?  The slick new styler offers a dramatic twist on this most alluring of decades and is available in two luxurious art deco styled gift set options. I myself went for the smaller gift set, and was happy to receive a heat resistant mat (which is used daily) and hair clips, but also a lush red travel case, which is also heat resistant. I also love the new addition to the accessories for your ghd, with a slide on lid, which is great for travelling as it keeps the ghd in place.

To launch the collection, Katy Perry, face of ghd and the epitome of modern style and fashion has been given a ‘20s make over bringing to life the decadence and sophistication of the time. Katy is immortalised as a mystical Snow White for the Scarlet Collection campaign, shot by world renowned photographer David LaChapelle. The shots are amazing and the styles created are achievable with ghd irons - it just takes practice.

Inspired by the slick trend of the roaring and glitzy 20’s, the ghd Scarlet Collection includes the ghd Gold Classic styler with seductive red plates and accents, which glitter! Serioulsy they glitter! A protective plate guard, two ghd sectioning clips – beautifully presented in a stunning red art deco inspired satin styler roll bag. I kept the box that mine came it because it was just too beautiful.

ghd Scarlet Collection Deluxe
Clearly this has deluxe in it's name for a reason. This ghd is presented in an eye-catching art deco inspired red vanity case which take your right back to the 20's, in a heart beat. The ghd Scarlet Collection Deluxe gift set includes a ghd Gold Classic styler has everything that the first set has, but it's taken up a notch by a matching travel dryer has well as a striking clutch that is reminiscent of the 1920's with its Art Deco styling and rich red colouring.

I adore Katy Perry in this shots and I love how classy but fun the styles are! If any of you do not have a ghd, what are you waiting for? I can honestly say that my ghd is vital to my beauty and fashion routine and I have tried another brands, which honestly do not even come close to what the ghd can do for a girl. You can visit the ghd Australia site here, for these gifts sets, hair products, brushes and of course, the classic styler!

As I said before fashion is my soul, my beauty and hair are my heart. And a perfect do is just as important as the right pair of shoes! Never forget that!

OOTD: California Cool.

Today's outfit was a really simple, chic and casual outfit. I was just running some errands and had lunch out with some friends, worst Chinese food I have EVER eaten in my entire life, but at least the coke was cold and the company was good.

"Take Me Away" Acid Wash Denim Blazer (24) - 17Sundays
Cream oversized  Dress (US20) - Asos Curve
"John Lennon" Sunglasses - ASOS
Black and White Brogue Flats (UK9) - Beth Ditto for Evans

I love this blazer from 17Sundays and it feels so amazing on. It also instantly pulled my outfit together and took this very, very simple dress from Asos Curve up a few notches.

The one big thing I love about this blazer, apart from it being fabulous.... is the quality of the denim. Over the years I've had a lot of denim. And sometimes depending on the brand, the denim can leak. I mean the colour from the denim rubs off on to what ever else you may be wearing, I have lost some very expensive shape wear and a hand bag or two due to the ink in poor quality denim. And once, I even had the colour rub off all over my legs and when I took the denim off I seriously had faded blue legs.

But NOT THIS DENIM, its so soft and stretchy and you can just tell it's of a really high standard - I trust this denim so much, I wore it with a white dress, and not one ounce of trouble happened!

I just loved how I felt in this outfit - it's totally perfect for being on vaycay and you could easily swap to a higher heel or wedges for dinner at night.

In one of my recent posts I finally put together an outfit with my boater hat! I was saying in that post how hard it was to get hats to fit my head, today while running errands I found an amazing one!

I know my chest looks burnt, but I swear it's not!
One of my errands was to get a wheeled carry on bag for NYC, after lunch at the worst Chinese restaurant ever (seriously, I'm not being dramatic, it was horrid), I walked by a surf store and they had the cutest ever floral wheeled carry on bag, which happened to be on sale too! They also had an enormous collection of hats, and on pure whim I tried on this one. And ta-da! It fitted. It's by Rip Curl and it retails for $26.95 but I scored it for $20. It's actually really pink and the trim is leather!

Also if your a casual reader of this post, you might want to start following officially, because I have a really rad give away coming up! Seriously, its going to be a super duper one!

OOTD: Spanish Town.

As I said in a previous post, I tend to gravitate towards bright colours. Even before I became super duper confident in my fashion choices, before I became super duper quirky I've always loved colour. I didn't always wear it, I never thought I could - even though I wanted too. I bought this dress from Torrid years and years ago. You could say it's vintage Torrid I bought it that long ago.

Boater's Hate - MYER
Unicorn Necklace - Peaches Geldof for MADE
Emerald Green Dress (4) - Torrid
Black Peeptoe Shoes (11) - Emerson for Big W

Can't believe I almost gave this dress away! I have not worn it for years! But I'm so glad I gave it a chance today! It has a lovely laser cut pattern across the shoulders and it's a lovely shade of green. As I always say Torrid is a brand that it's always great quality, in my experience. And they are always a good price - if I recall this was about $60 US. And you can't beat their combination of style, price and quality.

Yes I'm really in love with my boaters hat! I can't help it! A hat really comes in handy. It's great when your fringe (bangs) doesn't want to play nice. It gives you a certain something, especially when you tip it to the side. Very Fred Astaire. It's also great to give your face some shade, so it's fashionable sun protection.

To me there is just something about this outfit that works. All the pieces are different to each other, but all tie in together really well. And this is such a cool dress to wear with the recent dash of summer weather we have been having!

Also I have had a few request's to do a video answering some of your questions! If you have a particular question in relation to the blog, myself, curvette fashion or a style/trend in particular and you would like to me to answer please feel free to email me at toomanysequins@hotmail.com! I would really love to hear from you!

OOTD: Frida's Flowers.

So a few weeks ago I got sent an amazingly beautiful pleated maxi skirt from Dream Diva. The are lots of them around at the moment, but the main reason I loved and adored this one is because it's a lush shade of pink! When I saw it, it really made my heart swoon!

A note about this skirt, it does fit true to size, but the waist band did not want to work with my body so I got it altered to an elastic waist band, purely for comfort. I was lucky enough to find a beautiful red elastic, which I think looks really striking next to the pink.

"Frida" Flower Head Dress - Too Many Sequins
Black Lace Shoulder Tee (22) - Estelle for MYER
Pink Pleated Maxi Skirt (24) - Gifted by Dream Diva
"Glenda" ring - Gifted by GLITTERRINGS
Black Peep Toe Shoes (11) - Emerson for Big W

It is a stunning skirt, with an ever more beautiful colour. It's surprisingly heavy, but coming into winter that's a bonus in my book. It has a really lovely satin lining and it feels like it's out of the 1920's due the the length and pleats.

In these photos I'm not wearing any shoes as I was on grass, but I'm 5'11 and this shows you how truly long this skirt is! Simply amazing! Also you might notice there are some dogs in the background! They are my new next door neighbours, Mohammed and Ali. I guess they wanted in on the shots too, they are the cutest, sweetest puppies ever!

You might also notice my new head dress. It started out with inspiration by Lana Del Rey but ended up more Frida Kahlo. And I couldn't be happier - although my fingers are quite mad at me, they took the brunt of the hot glue gun. But the red of the flowers works beautifully with both the pink and red this amazing skirt!

Close ups of my new head dress, just so you can all see the amazing colour in it. It has an amazing dark red which gets lighter as it goes into the centre of the flower. Yes, it's high - which makes me even taller - but It's so beautiful that doesn't really bother me. Anyone who dislikes my height can grow an inch!

So if your after a pleated maxi skirt this season, don't go for black this year - although it comes in that shade as well. I really think its a lovely, lovely pink shade that is just as classic as black. And it's the type of skirt that can be worn through every season. A real staple piece and retailing at $129 it's a steal considering the quality.
