Today was the first day of spring! And it was actually warm! So warm that I wore a dress with sandals and no cardigan. This was so exciting for me as I have felt as though winter has lasted for ever!
As some of you may or may not know, I moved in with my boyfriend a few months ago and things have been blissful. But today was really one of those perfect days you long for. Warm and breezy but not hot. Your first fishtail/mermaid braid goes perfectly, thank you Moroccan oil. Then because the weather is so lovely you can wear your new sandals and favourite vintage dress!
Then you have a love home-made lunch consisting of cucumber sandwiches and sparkling water, followed by a beautiful romantic walk around the park & waterfront with the sun shining down on us. Pretty much a perfect day.
You'll notice that the picture quality has been dramatically reduced in this post, because these photos were just taken on my iPhone. I didn't want to spoil the day by lugging around my huge camera. Maybe I might switch back to a point and shoot from time to time, there is a joyful simplicity that comes from them, that I have very much missed.
The fishtail braid for me, is probably one of the easiest to learn. It tends to be a bit painstakingly slow when your actually doing it that you feel your fingers might just fall off, but it's so simple and the end results are beautiful. I always mess my braids up a little when I finish them, it just gives them an undone chicness that I love.
My new shoes from Target. For everyone that asked, they retail at $40 but I got them on sale for $30. They are called "Delta" - I'm guessing an ode to Delta Goodrem and her boho chic style. But they are so comfy, that I have a second pair on lay away as back ups for when this pair is sure to die!
