Babydoll

So I'm not sure if it was the colour, the baby doll shape or just the fact that it had amazing texture at the top, but this dress was ordered in about 5 minutes. I had originally wanted it in the cream colour but Lovedrobe had sold out in my size. But I was still so happy to be able to purchase a dress like this that I snapped up this coral one!

Happily two nights ago New Look stocked this dress in their inspire range in both colours! Here and here, so I quickly snapped up the cream colour along with another dress. New Look really seem to be stepping up their game, but I really wish Asos would just stock every plus size brand already, I get spoilt not having to pay shipping with them - So spoilt, that it makes me really think about any purchases I may make with another brand.

One note about this dress, if your any taller than I am and I'm about 5'11 (with out heels) you may need to get the length altered. Which would be easy enough by simply adding some lace to the edge. But I felt, that even though it was probably a little on the short side, it was still very forgiving and I never once felt "exposed" by it's lack of length. But then again I'm ok with anything that might be on the short side.

L.A. Daze

They say, you are a true fashion blogger when, no matter where you live, you dress like you live in New York. In a sense, that's true. Most fashion bloggers, even when living in a small town, have an outlandish style that is all their own and not at all what you expect.

But as much as I love New York, I will always be a California girl at heart. I just feel so at home there, that if I had the chance I would quite happily live there forever. So I tend to dress, like I'm from California. Some people think I'm from San Francisco, which is one of my favourite places in Cali, so I take that as a huge compliment to myself and my sense of style.

So in honour of the Californian spirit, here's what I'd be packing if I was jetting off tomorrow!

Nakimuli Bright Delight Multi Wrap One Piece - Available Here.

Rue107 + Hudson River Bandeau Top (Available Here) & High Waisted Bottoms (Available Here).

Tory Burch Fringed Raffia Bag, Now sold out - but there is a clutch version (Available Here)

Nakimuli Bright Aztec Serengeti Bikini. Bandeau Top (Available Here) & High Waisted Bottoms (Available Here)

Rachel Pally Dallas Dress - Available Here

It's obviously very clear that I am dreaming about beaches and warmer weather, especially as we move into winter here in Australia. But I always seem to be buying out of season. My closet would have to be similar to Vogue magazine's closet, I'm always a season a head, getting winter things in summer, and summer pieces in winter. The joys of living in the southern hemisphere!

Aussie Curves: Shine Bright Like A ..... Sequin

Wow.. original title I know, but it seemed fitting. This weeks Aussie Curves theme is Sequins, naturally my favourite theme. And I'm being completely unbiased when I say that. There is something about sequins that just always add a special something to an outfit for me. It might be the shine or the texture, or just how beautiful they are - but they really are the ultimate "look at me" statement.

I adored this dress when it arrived on ASOS.com but I wasn't entirely sure how the fit would be. So often with these love party dresses they fit small and slightly short, so I was happy to discover that this fit loose! If I didn't like the way the sleeves fell, I would have sent it back and got the size down. I love how 1980's this is, the patterned sequins are just so stunning - also very non scratchy. They have lined it with a very soft jersey so it is incredibly soft against your skin. And it also features another of my loves, Tulle. Two layers in fact.

A MermaidJust Like You

"Hi, My name is Jessica and I have an ASOS Addiction.... "

The above statement is blatantly obvious. But I've said it before and I will happily say it again. It's one of the only love affairs that has ever truly lasted. I first saw this sequin top, when it came online, and even thought I am a sequin kinda gal (I am Too Many Sequins, after all!) I wasn't overly sold on it. The colours were nice, but I didn't think "wow - I need that" which is the base thought for all my purchases.

But when Gabi put in on her blog here I saw how beautiful it was and promptly went on and grabbed it, on sale too! But still, even the photos on ASOS.com, just doesn't show the extreme mermaid green this top has, nor the flicks of red and pink when light hits it. It shows it more of a silver and blue. I was happily surprised by just how green this top is.

Festival Chic

I've honestly never liked the idea of going to a music festival, or a festival of any kind if I was being honest. I don't like the idea of mud on me unless I happen to be in a day spa - but I do love seeing photos of all the celebs at Coachella, the easy breezy looks of certain starlets have me wishing of warm days on the California beach - mud free, of course.

So I was dreaming of being back in my other home state, in the California sun, with my love, happy and frolicking... sorry, back to the post. This is what I would wear if I was living that dream. I seem to be living in maxi skirts and enjoying this last little bit of warmth before winter gets in full swing.

Miami Jewel

I Instagrammed this dress when it first came online a few weeks ago, but I held back from buying it straight away. I adored it, I simply loved the pattern and in a very faint way it reminds me of Ken Done. But I just wasn't sure how these pale colours would go with my skin.

But one late night of online window shopping, and 5 minutes later I went for it. The only way you will know if something works is to try it. So when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how non pastel it was. Yes the colours are pale, but in a very bright, look at me kind of way.
Even in these shots, it still looks remarkably pale, but in real life, its much much brighter.

I was again, happily surprised by how thick the fabric was, how lovely the cut of the dress was, the extra long sleeves that were not made for man sized wrists! Some people had said it was very oversized, or that it was horrible in real life - I strongly disagree with them. It's perfection to me. I honestly do not think I've ever been so happy with a dress from ASOS, it seems like the plus size fashion industry are really lifting their game - which means one thing #closetrich.
